About The Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Software Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping the architecture and engineering standards of a modern cloud-based SaaS <platform.You> will act as a technical authority, guiding complex solution design across distributed systems, microservices, APIs, frontend architecture, and cloud technologies.The role combines deep hands-on engineering with mentorship, technical decision-making, and cross-functional <influence.You> will help engineering teams build scalable, secure, highly available, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.Working closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Security, and engineering leadership, you will raise technical standards across the <platform.You> will also tackle complex production challenges, drive automation and secure development practices, and contribute to high-impact initiatives.The environment is agile, global, and fast-paced, making this an opportunity to influence both technology direction and engineering culture.

Accountabilities

Technical architecture: Define, guide, and review technical solutions for complex platform capabilities, ensuring scalability, security, maintainability, performance, availability, and cost efficiency.

Technical leadership: Serve as a senior technical authority for the cloud platform, influencing engineers, Team Leads, Technical Managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and other technical stakeholders on long-term engineering decisions.

Architecture evolution: Lead the design and evolution of modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven architecture, CQRS, BFF, REST APIs, frontend architecture, and cloud-native solutions.

Engineering mentorship: Mentor and coach engineers across different experience levels, strengthening their capabilities in software design, coding, debugging, testing, architecture, and engineering best practices.

Code and design quality: Review critical designs, pull requests, and implementation approaches to promote clean code, robust architecture, strong performance, maintainability, and compliance with security standards.

Cross-functional delivery: Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, Security, and Cloud Operations teams to ensure solutions are delivered with appropriate automation, observability, CI/CD readiness, testing, and secure-by-default practices.

Engineering standards: Promote consistent practices across teams covering APIs, micro frontends, automated testing, CI/CD, source control, documentation, branching strategies, and the software development lifecycle.

Troubleshooting: Support the investigation and resolution of complex production and platform issues, identifying root causes and driving sustainable technical solutions.

Hands-on engineering: Contribute directly to high-impact development initiatives when advanced technical expertise, architectural guidance, or cross-team coordination is required.

Technical communication: Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for engineers, technical leaders, Product stakeholders, and business leadership.

Technical decision-making: Navigate ambiguity and difficult architectural decisions while balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term platform scalability and sustainability.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Software engineering experience: Extensive professional software development experience, including strong hands-on expertise across backend engineering, frontend development, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.

Backend development: Strong experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem, REST APIs, and scalable service-oriented or microservices-based applications.

Frontend development: Strong experience with modern frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or comparable frameworks.

Architecture: Deep knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and patterns, including SOLID, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, event sourcing, CQRS, and BFF.

Databases: Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or comparable technologies.

Cloud & Azure: Experience with Azure services and infrastructure, including Azure DevOps deployment and cloud-native application development.

DevOps & DevSecOps: Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security, SAST, SCA, DAST, and secure software development practices.

Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or comparable Infrastructure as Code technologies.

Quality engineering: Experience with automated and unit testing, API testing, test-driven development, performance testing, and automation frameworks.

Source control: Strong understanding of SCM practices, including branching strategies, code reviews, and code merges.

Engineering excellence: Understanding of high availability, scalability, performance optimization, observability, and secure software development.

Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, analytical reasoning, decision-making, and root-cause analysis skills.

Technical influence: Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, make difficult technical decisions, and provide clear recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Agile environment: Experience working within Agile, full-stack, fast-paced engineering teams focused on delivering high-quality software products.

Communication: Strong spoken and written English skills for effective collaboration in a global environment.

Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations, adapt to changing priorities, and balance short-term delivery with long-term technical outcomes.
