Accountabilities
Own the data science and applied AI roadmap across operational and finance functions, developing solutions such as agentic systems, forecasting models, lead scoring, and decision-support tools that improve efficiency, reliability, and unit economics.
Lead, hire, mentor, and develop a data science and analytics team, establishing high standards for technical rigor, experimentation, evaluation, and production quality.
Identify high-impact business and operational challenges in partnership with operations, finance, and product leaders, translating ambiguous problems into well-defined analytical and AI initiatives.
Oversee finance analytics supporting accounting, FP&A, pricing, and broader financial decision-making.
Develop AI and agent-based workflows that move beyond prediction toward automated action, improving team productivity and operational outcomes.
Partner with data engineering, machine learning engineering, and platform teams to ensure appropriate infrastructure, data quality, orchestration, tooling, deployment processes, and governance are in place.
Drive analytics-led decision-making by applying advanced analysis and communicating actionable recommendations to executive stakeholders.
Champion an AI- and agent-first approach across the organization, combining hands-on technical leadership with the development of systems that accelerate team performance.
Establish scalable approaches to experimentation, model evaluation, AI deployment, and analytics delivery.
Continuously identify new high-ROI opportunities where data, machine learning, and AI can create measurable operational or financial value.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in data science, applied AI, or machine learning, including 5+ years leading and growing technical teams.
Proven experience managing analytics teams and driving data-informed decisions across complex business functions.
Demonstrated success influencing operational decisions through machine learning systems, such as forecasting, lead scoring, or other predictive solutions.
Strong statistical and machine learning foundations combined with hands-on knowledge of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, agentic systems, orchestration, tool use, retrieval, and AI evaluation methodologies.
Strong analytics capabilities with a demonstrated ability to use deep analysis to guide business and operational decisions.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with familiarity with modern cloud data and AI ecosystems, including cloud warehouses, dbt, and LLM or AI deployment pipelines.
Experience translating ambiguous business challenges into practical, measurable technical initiatives.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations clearly to non-technical executives and senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with engineering, product, finance, and operations teams.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment where decisions have meaningful operational and financial consequences.
A strategic, innovative, and hands-on leadership style, with a willingness to remain close to technology while developing teams and organizational capabilities.
Experience in B2B SaaS, marketplaces, logistics, field operations, or similarly complex operational environments is a plus.

- Competitive base salary ranging from $319,600 to $479,400 USD for eligible candidates in CA, CT, DC, MD, MA, NJ, NY, VA, and WA.
