This is a senior growth leadership opportunity focused on expanding a nationwide ambulatory surgery center network through physician partnerships, health system relationships, joint ventures, and strategic market <development.You> will identify high-value opportunities, build trusted relationships with senior healthcare stakeholders, and lead complex transactions from initial outreach through closing.The role combines strategic business development, healthcare market analysis, financial acumen, negotiation, and transaction <leadership.You> will work closely with physicians, health systems, executive leadership, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Clinical teams to structure partnerships that create long-term <value.As> a visible representative in the marketplace, you will help strengthen the organization's position as a preferred partner while identifying opportunities for continued expansion.The position offers significant autonomy and influence, with responsibility for managing a complex pipeline and shaping growth strategy across existing and emerging <markets.It> is particularly well suited to an experienced healthcare corporate development professional with strong physician relationships and an established network in the ASC sector.
Accountabilities
Build and manage a robust pipeline of high-value ambulatory surgery center partnership opportunities across existing and new markets.
Develop targeted outreach strategies for physician groups, health systems, and other key healthcare stakeholders.
Analyze market opportunities using physician alignment, demographics, competitive dynamics, referral patterns, and broader healthcare trends to prioritize attractive growth markets.
Represent the organization in the marketplace and strengthen relationships with physicians, health system executives, governing boards, and other senior stakeholders.
Establish trusted, long-term physician and health system partnerships by understanding stakeholder objectives and aligning solutions with their strategic and financial priorities.
Lead consultative discussions and presentations that communicate the partnership model, investment approach, operating capabilities, and value proposition.
Originate, structure, negotiate, and close complex joint ventures, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and other healthcare transactions.
Serve as the central leader for transactions, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, resolving obstacles, maintaining momentum, and ensuring visibility into milestones and timelines.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, Clinical, and Executive Leadership to ensure partnerships are financially sound, appropriately structured, compliant, and ready for implementation.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support expansion into new territories and provide leadership with actionable market intelligence.
Maintain an accurate business development pipeline, forecasts, and reporting, clearly communicating progress, risks, opportunities, and next steps.
Support the transition from signed agreements through implementation while maintaining strong partner relationships.
Share market insights and stakeholder feedback to influence broader strategic priorities and strengthen the organization's competitive position.
Manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously while operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in corporate development, business development, healthcare strategy, mergers and acquisitions, transaction leadership, or a related field.
- Significant experience within ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices, hospitals, healthcare services, or a closely related healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex healthcare partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, or strategic transactions.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with physician owners, health system executives, governing boards, and senior business leaders.
- Strong understanding of ASC operations, physician practice dynamics, healthcare finance, partnership structures, and transaction economics.
- Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to evaluate partnership economics, assess markets, interpret data, and make sound strategic decisions.
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing sophisticated, consultative business development and transaction processes involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and ability to maintain momentum through lengthy and complex deal cycles.
- Highly collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence cross-functional teams while working independently.
- Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MHA, or another advanced business degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a private equity-backed healthcare organization and an established ASC industry network are strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel regularly for physician meetings, health system engagement, market development, and industry networking.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
