We're a small, fast-moving team doing hard engineering that matters, and we're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers alongside us.About the roleH3X is looking to hire a test engineering intern this to support R&D and production testing across the HPDM product line. This is not an ordinary internship. You will be given the full responsibility of a test engineer. The engineering team is intentionally small and operates at a very fast pace. A high degree of self-motivation and responsibility is required as you will be given significant freedom and will be directly responsible for your parts. We are looking for a full time Spring Intern, but also have availability for Summer 2027 and extended Co-Op positions.What you will do:Requirements/ConceptEstablish and document requirements to fulfill testing equipment design needsConceptualize test equipment designsGather and consolidate requirements for R&D test suites in the form of test plansDesign and AnalysisDesign parts and assemblies utilizing SolidWorksPrototype and ManufacturingCompile complete Bills of MaterialsProvide technical supply chain support for sourcing hardwareWork with technicians and test engineers to build initial prototypesTest prototype equipment for verificationTesting and ValidationCreate a test plan and checklist to validate product design targetsSupport testing execution and characterization of new designsInterpret test results, identify root-cause of issues, and make design recommendations to meet the highest level of reliability and performanceIntegrationSupport complete system testsOtherIdentify workplace hazards and implement safe processesMaintain testing and production equipment where necessaryWhat we are looking for:Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similarGPA of 3.0 or higherHands-on experience assembling mechanical systemsHands-on experience with product testingSolidWorks proficient (or similar)Excellent written and verbal communicationExceptional understanding of fundamentalsAction biased, results-driven mentalityWillingness to learn quicklyNice to Have Experience:Experience with dynamometer testingExperience with electric motors and/or inverter drivesExperience with data processingCompensation & BenefitsSalary/Hourly Compensation Range: $23 - $37/hr based on school level & experienceFlexible hours (deliverable-based goals)Relocation packageMonthly company eventsFriday Team LunchesWhy H3XJoining H3X means working on hard, meaningful problems with a skunkworks-style team that's laser-focused on building exceptional products.
