About The Role

Employment Type: Full Time

  • Schedule: Day Shift, typically 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility to support other shifts as needed
  • Starting Rate: $38.00/hour (higher based on experience)

Role Summary

We are hiring a skilled Industrial Controls & Automation Technician to support maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in keeping automated production systems running efficiently by troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving electrical and control systems.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, and equipment maintenance who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain automated equipment and control systems
  • Work with PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, VFDs, sensors, vision systems, and encoders
  • Update and troubleshoot PLC/HMI programs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Configure and maintain industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, IO-Link)
  • Program and maintain safety control systems to ensure safe machine operation
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Assist with installation, startup, and optimization of automation systems
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proactively identify safety risks
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and technical teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including work logs, procedures, and project updates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Controls, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting
  • Journeyman-level electrical certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including 480V systems and motors
  • Familiarity with industrial networks and process control systems
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and best practices

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline
  • Experience in regulated or high-volume manufacturing environments (consumer goods, pharma, cosmetics)
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with FDA or ISO-regulated operations
  • Experience supporting high-speed processing or packaging equipment
