About The Role

The role supports the Materials Department by overseeing the administration of material receiving stations, shop‑floor material flow, and all point‑of‑use locations. The Materials Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient material handling processes while continuously improving departmental performance. The position also contributes to personal and departmental development through ongoing training and continuing education.

Essential Functions

  • Receive and process material to point‑of‑use locations by required dates.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and support achievement of inventory performance goals.
  • Ensure full adherence to all MRP processes and requirements.
  • Assist with MRP activities, including reviewing and acting on MRP messages.
  • Support monitoring and measurement of performance against materials‑related goals.
  • Promote and support lean manufacturing practices, 5S, and proactive planning (5P’s).
  • Maintain accurate and reliable data within all materials systems and reporting tools.
  • Process inventory adjustments and support continuous improvement to reduce adjustment frequency.
  • Maintain accuracy of discrete jobs, including data integrity and reject documentation.
  • Support ISO procedures and work instruction compliance.
  • Monitor and meet expectations related to UORS, variance, and in‑transit material within 24 hours, including managing work‑here and ASBN lists.
  • Ensure material in STAGING REC 99 (no default locator) is processed within 24 hours.
  • Perform all receiving functions and work collaboratively with Finance, Purchasing, Internal Audit, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments to meet goals.
  • Support the materials team in meeting budget targets for materials, supplies, labor, overtime, and operational expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, work instructions, and 5P’s to support continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and reconcile material issues, identifying root causes of variances.
  • Work all error lists associated with receiving and transfer demands beyond the originating facility.

Requirements

  • APICS certification or current enrollment in the APICS program.
  • Exceptional Excel skills with strong analytical capability.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to multi‑task, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to use effective checklists and shortage lists to plan daily work.
  • Ability to maintain clear internal communication using proper email etiquette.
