Job Description
In these part-time Ward Clerk opportunities, based in Richmond, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our Orthopaedics wards. You will deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, medical staff and ward teams, while supporting safe and effective patient care.
As one of the largest joint replacement centres in the Asia-Pacific region, our Orthopaedics service supports thousands of patients each year to regain movement, confidence and independence. Our teams deliver:
4,000+ joint replacements annually
1,100+ trauma patient admissions
A broad mix of elective and acute surgical care
You will make an impact by
- Providing timely and accurate administrative support to nursing staff
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with ward and team administration
- Creating, managing and maintaining accurate medical records
- Managing phone calls and enquiries, acting as a warm and professional first point of contact for patients and visitors
- Coordinating patient admissions, transfers and discharges within patient information systems
- Liaising with medical teams, support services, referrers and other key stakeholders across the hospital
Ward Clerk Units - positions available
- Ward 5 Lee - part time hours 19 hours per week
- Tuesday and Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Saturday (if available): 8:00am – 12:00pm
- Ward 6 Lee - part time 32 hours per week
- Tuesday to Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

You are known for your
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear and professional communication style
- Ability to remain calm and effective in busy ward settings
You will bring
Previous medical administration experience (hospital experience highly regarded)
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Experience using IPM and hospital or patient information systems
Strong IT skills and confidence navigating multiple digital platforms
A clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements in healthcare
Flexibility to work across varying shifts and schedules
