Production Manager

1. Purpose of the Job:

A member of the Site Leadership Team managing the site production personnel from raw material receipt to reaction to dispatch of finished goods. Ensuring all operations are carried out safely and to site procedures.Key performance indicators are Safety, Quality, Cost and Efficiency.

2.Responsibilities

2.1 Basic Function

• Total continuous control of production, in liaison with other operations at the site, to maintain scheduled production, delivery and quality goals set for the plant.
• Function as site MANufacturing EXcellence champion driving continuous improvement. Provide written monthly reports and accurate data on performance.
• Analyse and act on Overall Equipment Effectiveness data, complete site Self-Assessment Questionnaires and generate improvement plans.
• Personnel – manage all aspects of staff performance. Set objectives and KPI’s in line with site strategies and personal development.
• Maintain and develop department SOP’s and WI’s. Ensure training and competence of staff.
• Consider suggestions for improvements and forward through appropriate channels. Manage any improvement projects conducted by direct reports.
• Brief staff on relevant changes in policy, plans, objectives, organization, performance.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant statutory, safety and public health requirements.
• Liase continuously with other functions both within Vietnam and the global organisation.
• Manage production budget; prepare estimates, financial statements where appropriate and written reports on production matters.
• Keep the General Director aware of the morale of the site and employees.
• Resolve inter dept., inter-company, and personnel grievance issues.
• Represent the company in official & government functions as required.

2.2 Safety Health & Environment (SHE)

• Ensure site Process Safety compliance by conducting regular audits and inspections. Maintain process safety documentation relating to site Major Accident Hazards.
• Take action to eliminate hazards. Authorized to stop any unsafe activity on site.
• Enforce company SHE policy and procedures at the site.
• Maintain site standards; housekeeping inspections, Walk & Talk, Toolbox Talks.
• Ensure reporting of incidents and accidents though the Accident and Incident Management System. Investigate and conduct remedial action.
• Audit Permit to Work system. Function as Senior Designated Person for High Hazard activities.
• Ensure trained first aid personnel always available.
• Participate and monitor risk assessment.
• Ensure all changes assessed through Management of Change.
• Participate & contribute to site SHE committee meetings.
• Ensure suitable and sufficient PPE is available and worn by all personnel.
• Ensure all operating staff regularly participates in site emergency drills and practice.
• To function as Site Commander under Site Emergency Response Plan.
• Minimise releases to environment and prevent any unauthorized releases.
• Manage the effluent treatment plant to ensure discharge follows agreed Industrial Zone Standard
• To be aware of the company Quality Policy and deliver finished goods at the right quality, on time, every time. Drive continuous improvement on site customer satisfaction KPI’s

• 2.4 Warehouse

• To supervise, check and control work related to hygiene and warehouse.
• To ensure tasks conducted safely, with minimum waste of raw material.
• Overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of goods and raw materials.

• 2.5 SHE Competency
• Must qualify as competent in Synthomer Group SHE Competency Assessment

1. Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in chemistry or chemical engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience in related fields.
• Fluent in English
• Good command of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentation
