General Purpose and Objective of Position

The RN is a patient-facing position. During scheduled shifts this position routinely performs patient service, escorting the patient to examining rooms, providing patient education, go over physician’s instructions with the patient prior to release, office/clerical, cleaning, inventory, and equipment maintenance activities. This position is an emotionally intelligent conduit who smoothly interacts with the clinic’s leadership team, physicians, other personnel, and patients to provide effective, efficient, and exceptional patient service. This position is typically the initial contact-point in the patient rooms before the provider sees the patient. Greeting patients and addressing the patient’s needs -- all-the-while ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere from the point you walk in the door until the patient leaves the clinic -- is a paramount function of this position. As such, this position has direct responsibility for initiating care, collecting vitals, and educating as well as administering vaccinations, and ensures that patient processing is smooth and efficient, whereby, each patient is addressed in a timely manner and leaves with a favorable experience. Ensuring that all patient procedures are accurately followed so that the team can concentrate on patients’ well-being is key to this process. Examples include but are not limited to: retrieving accurate patient files, verifying age appropriate vaccines, charting information, utilizing EPIC, and completing billing. Additionally, this position is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and other periodic office/clerical, light-janitorial/housekeeping, minor health and safety, and equipment maintenance duties as described in the essential duties/functions section of this job description.
