About The Role
The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
- To assist in the preparation works of various freezing surveys, and lead a team to arrange post-survey works
- To vet assessments of and make recommendations on various forms of compensation, re-housing and tenancy renewal
- To conduct site inspections and checking, prepare and conduct briefing sessions, and negotiate with owners, tenants and occupiers for settlement
- To liaise with owners, tenants, occupiers and solicitor firms for completion of legal formalities relating to acquisition of properties, Flat-for-Flat arrangements and settlement with tenants / occupiers
- To manage properties including repair and cleansing works, security, and tenancies
- To assist in review of policies and formulation of strategies relating to acquisition and clearance
Requirements
- Degree holder in surveying, building / housing / property management, or related discipline
- Recognised relevant professional qualification(s), e.g. MHKIS, MRICS, MHKIH, CIHM, or equivalent
- At least 5 year of relevant working experience, or 3 years of relevant post-professional qualification experience
- Good communication skills in Chinese and English, preferably with the ability to communicate in Putonghua
- Knowledge and experience in the legal formalities in sale and purchase of property would be an advantage
- Knowledge in computer software
- Willing to work outdoors and outside normal office hours
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Possession of a valid Estate Agent Licence will be an advantage
- Work assignments will require working outside normal office hours and outdoors
(Candidates not having the above qualifications but with sufficient relevant experience will also be considered for the post.)
