1. AI & Automation Solution Development - 40%

• Build and enhance automation workflows using RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate) following established patterns and standards
• Implement discrete components for common insurance automations (claims intake tasks, policy servicing updates, document routing)
• Configure OCR/NLP or AI services within workflows with guidance (e.g., calling an Azure AI/AWS service, parsing results, handling exceptions)
• Develop reusable scripts/utilities (Python) to support data preparation, validation, and workflow logic
• Create and maintain technical documentation (process definitions, runbooks, configuration guides)

1. Process Analysis & Delivery Support - 20%

• Participate in process discovery sessions; document current-state steps, exceptions, volumes, and data inputs/outputs
• Assist in defining automation requirements, acceptance criteria, and test plans in partnership with BAs/SMEs
• Support basic effort sizing and feasibility assessments using provided templates (complexity, data readiness, access constraints)
• Execute unit testing and support UAT triage by reproducing issues and proposing fixes

1. AI/ML Model Development & Integration Support - 30%

• Support model consumption/integration (API calls, input/output mapping, logging, error handling)
• Assist with data labeling/curation and basic feature preparation under direction
• Implement monitoring hooks (basic metrics/logging) for model endpoints and automation workflows

Integration & Orchestration Support

• Implement API integrations (REST/JSON) and handle authentication patterns under guidance (OAuth, tokens, service principals)
• Support event-driven workflow steps (queue consumption, webhooks) using established examples
• Assist with integration testing and defect resolution across environments

Continuous Improvement & Governance

• Track and report automation metrics (run counts, exception rates, cycle time) using existing dashboards/logs
• Follow secure development practices (secrets management, least privilege) and comply with audit/data privacy requirements
• Contribute improvements to reusable components and internal documentation

1. Teamwork & Collaboration - 10%

Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to meet client needs and contribute to achievement of internal team goals.

Look for opportunities to improve processes to better support clients and build knowledge and expertise in underwriting.

Serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members. Alongside supervisor, assists leading training for new team members.
