- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication and presentation skills
- The ability to work under pressure, often within tight deadlines
- A proactive, flexible and agile approach to work
- Residential and working rights in Guernsey
Flexible Working
We welcome conversations about flexible and agile working arrangements to support a diverse range of exceptional people to balance their personal circumstances and needs with business requirements, wherever possible. If you would like to speak to someone about flexible or agile working, please contact our Recruitment team.
How to apply
As part of your SQE programme application, please submit your CV alongside a general cover letter of no more than 500 words.
This is your opportunity to tell us about yourself, your motivations and what interests you about a career in law. We encourage you to write in your own words and to focus on the points that feel most relevant to you.
You may wish to include your thoughts on the following areas
- Why you would like to build a career in law?
- Why you are interested in joining our firm?
- What you think lawyers contribute to society and the wider world?
- What challenges and opportunities lawyers may face as artificial intelligence continues to develop?
Your cover letter does not need to answer each point in the same level of detail, but it should give us a clear sense of who you are, and why this opportunity is important to you.
Our applications for the September 2027 intake will close in November 2026. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our recruitment team on recruitment@mourant.com .
