1:1 Support Worker

About The Role
Type of Child Care: School Age
- 5-6 age group
Education and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12, plus related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of six months' part-time experience providing 1:1 support to a child aged 5–12, preferably in a child care, school, or camp setting.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Support Services, Education Assistant, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Current and valid First Aid and CPR C Level 1 is required (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
- Current and valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to establish clear, consistent boundaries while fostering a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to respond calmly and confidently to behavioural challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with camp staff and families.
Salary & Benefits
- $25.00/hour + 4% vacation pay in lieu of paid time off
- Applicants with a valid ECE Certificate are eligible for the $6.00/hour BC ECE Wage Enhancement.

Position details
- Monday, July 20 - Friday, August 21 2026, with the possibility of an extension into the 2026/2027 school year
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required before employment.
- We strongly encourage Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) with 1:1 support experience, and School Support Assistants (SSAs) to apply.
