Position Summary

This position includes, but is not limited to, curing all products that are cured in tumbler, loading and unloading tumblers, understand the cycle times for non-pumped product, and using the control panel and auto starting system of the tumblers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all daily prechecks.
  • Keep the tow motor in a clean, safe running condition and operate it in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Operate a hand-held calculator and/or computer to formulate brines.
  • Understand and operate the brine transfer system.
  • Read a salometer in order to determine the difference between a brine with curing agents versus one without curing agents and the proper ways to handle them.
  • Prevent product contamination.
  • Setup, tear down, operate equipment and adjust speeds and pressure to ensure proper gains of products being pumped on injector.
  • Know how to pull a vacuum on the tumbler and maintain the vacuum during the time it is running.
  • Correct routine problems with curing and tumbling.
  • Must be able and willing to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain a Class III tow motor certification.
  • Must be able and willing to complete all paperwork and SAP functions as required for position.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able and willing to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
  • Must be able and willing to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
  • Must be able and willing to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able and willing to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.

Preferred Skills

  • Machine Operator experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • RF Scanner experience preferred

Qualifications

  • 3 months of work history with the same employer
