Principal Electrical Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

The hardware team at ISEE is seeking a full-time electrical engineer with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of electrical engineering. This job includes research as well as development of replacement or new subsystems in the electro-mechanical architecture for both prototype designs as well as production intent designs for autonomous vehicles.

Role responsibilities include

• -Embedded development, programming and working with embedded developers
• -Defining and designing communications systems such as CAN(J1939, CANOpen) SPI, I2C, USB, and RS-232.
• -Working with others to develop and design the overall electrical architecture
• -Working with others to integrate electronics into vehicles
• -Design of safety critical system elements
• -Verification and Validation of electrical systems
• -Work with suppliers and drive the implementation of development into production
• -PCB layout, schematic design

Qualifications

• -Bachelor/Master Degree in Electrical Engineering
• -Passionate about self-driving vehicles
• -Excellent communication skills
• -Experience with electrical drawings and parts management
• -Experience with prototyping of boards

Preferred

• -10+ years of work experience
• -Experience with actuators and sensors of varying types
• -Experience with safety critical design work
• -Robotics/autonomous experience is a plus
• -Experience with Verification and Validation processes
