About The Role

INTERN LEARNING EXPECTATIONS

The Person in Environment Perspective combines a significant amount of field experience with documentation maintenance. This method includes the following:

  • Provision of a comprehensive orientation of the intern to the agency staff, individual systems, agency policies and procedures, safety concerns, supervision expectations and requirements, casework requirements, and legal and ethical requirements.
  • Significant experience in direct clinical work with individuals
  • Exposure to one or more theoretical practice frameworks with individuals, families, or groups; either directly or through observation.
  • Experience with case management and networking
  • Experience with documentation development such as service plans and progress notes
  • Conducting and completing bio-psychosocial assessment, process recordings, treatment plans with feedback from the field educator.
  • Experience with event planning, case staffing, and treatment team meetings.
  • Experience with service advocacy
  • Specific treatment plan development that includes outlining specific goals, interventions, strengths, needs, abilities, preferences, learning objectives and activities consistent with assessments and other documentation
  • Open communication with the Field Supervisor and faculty liaison on the quality of field experiences and learning needs.
  • Participation in community outreach projects.
