Key Responsibilities: PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The primary purpose of this WVUS Grant Solutions position is to provide support for audits of grants (US Government, Global Fund, private funders) by coordinating and reviewing audit schedules, liaising with WV entities and partners involved in the audits to facilitate communication, and assisting in audit finding resolution and record keeping. Support grants programs through training of staff and subrecipients. Support subgrant monitoring though training, review of audits and preparation of reports to be used throughout the WV Partnership. Activities surrounding the annual external Single Audit generally occur from August through March, with significant work required in October and November. The Single Audit is typically issued in May/June following each fiscal year. Special audits from donor agencies can occur throughout the year and generally have little advance notice. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Audit Preparation and Coordination Pre-audit coordination of information from field, complete review of accounting transaction records and other grant documents in advance of external year-end and special audits of US Government and other grants. Prepare analysis sufficient to satisfy external and donor auditors. Aid field office or other grant office to prepare for audit. Maintain tracker to monitor progress of audits. Attend audit update meetings. Maintain and update audit pages in WV central. Subrecipient audit collection and review. US Government regulations require the review of audits of subrecipient. This position is responsible for creating and sending audit request letters, following up to receive audits or certification of non-applicability, reviewing subgrant audits and communicating findings to the appropriate people Audit resolution Coordinate with stakeholders regarding resolution of audit findings from external, internal or special audits. Stakeholders might include WVUS IPG Core Team, GFFO, RGFM's, FO, GC, FPMG, Regional FD Capacity Building Assist in the training of World Vision and Partner staff regarding the financial and compliance aspects of grants. The well-established Gateway to Grants (G2G) program is developed and run by the Grant Solutions department. This role will assist in the development and delivery of G2G, subgrant monitoring, and audit preparation training in grants. Take the lead in the Grant Finance Community (GFC) Calls, based on gaps identified in processes and policies related to financial management. This includes the following: Develop a full-year calendar outlining the selected topics for each month’s GFC calls Identify and select appropriate facilitator for the topic Coach/guide facilitators on how to conduct the training (as needed) Maintain the GFC Calls learning platforms in MS Teams, WV central and SharePoint Risk Management Assist with internal audit findings data analysis: review, categorize, and identify and escalate trends. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferably in public accounting At least 1-year audit experience Able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization (verbally and in writing). Can thrive in a multi-cultural, geographically dispersed work environment CPA preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting Has knowledge and experience in audit and in all areas of finance and accounting Ability to explain complex auditing and accounting processes in simple terms Have the heart of a consultant, a problem solver, a trainer.
