Local Delivery Driver

PACK RAT DRIVER – JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure customers are being serviced as scheduled in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure trucks and forklifts are being maintained properly and in accordance with Company procedures.
• Ensure proper maintenance of facility and storage units.
• Work overtime as needed to ensure customer transactions are completed.
• Assist in the loading and unloading trucks.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Perform vehicle pre-maintenance checks and report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles before and after route.
• Check the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened
• Maintain cleanliness of all trucks/workspace/ company equipment
• Warehouse duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education – High School diploma required.

Experience

• Minimum 1-year customer service experience.
• Minimum 1-year route and/or warehouse experience preferred.
• Required Forklift Experience

Specialized knowledge and/or licenses

• Good driving record
• Class A, B or D license (Valid clean drivers license)
• Knowledge of area

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a keyboard and telephone number pad.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for up to two hours.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
• People skills, reliable, and customer-oriented
• Able to work well with others but also independently when required
• Punctual, reliable, and responsible
• Able to work 6 days per week, Monday through Saturday
• Able to begin work at 7:15 a. m. and work until the job is completed
• Able to read a map
• Required to wear company uniform
