Physical Design Leader

On behalf of our client, we are hiring a Physical Design Leader to support their expanding semiconductor design team in Da Nang. Our client is a leading technology-driven organization with operations across Singapore and Vietnam, focusing on innovative solutions for information security applications.

Joining the team as a Physical Design Leader, you will define the long-term vision for physical design infrastructure and technical strategy. You will provide strategic direction to the team, overseeing complex RTL-to-GDSII implementations to ensure the timely delivery of high-performance SoCs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full RTL-to-GDSII implementation lifecycle, including synthesis, power grid design, clock tree synthesis, and physical verification (DRC/LVS).
• Manage and scale the physical design organization, including team structure, hiring, performance management, and talent development.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with design teams to influence architectural decisions and resolve technical conflicts effectively.
• Drive the adoption of next-generation methodologies and automation flows to maximize productivity and design quality.
• Represent the physical design function in executive-level strategic discussions regarding technology and product roadmaps.
• Mentor engineering talent to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical innovation.

Job Requirements

Technical skills

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in back-end physical design and verification, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
• Extensive experience leading complex SoC projects through successful tape-outs under tight deadlines.
• Expertise in hierarchical physical design strategies and the challenges associated with advanced process nodes.
• Deep knowledge of modern EDA tools, ASIC design flows, and foundry design technologies.
• Highly proficient in automation using Tcl, Python, Makefile, or Perl.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven optimization in design tools is considered a plus.
