Richardson Oilseed Products U.S., a division of Richardson International operates a state-of-the-art oil packaging facility in Memphis, TN where it refines and packages one of the United States’ most recognized brands of canola and vegetable cooking oils, Wesson Oil .

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Technician at our Memphis, TN facility.
Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules
- Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:
- Always using the required personal protective equipment.
- Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely.
- Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards.
- Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives.
- Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure.
- Perform routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished product, ingredients and manufacturing supplies. Compare test results and disseminate information as required.
- Perform special tests and projects related to the operation as required. Evaluate results and independently ensure accuracy before alerting supervisory and production personnel.
- Use, maintain, troubleshoot, and do minor repairs on standard laboratory apparatus for performing routine and non-routine analyses.
- Compare test results with current specifications and advise supervisory and production personnel of problems and/or out of code situations. Make recommendations as to cause and resolution of problem.
- Follow inventory of necessary chemicals and equipment, make out orders for timely replacement or repair.
- Work with production on solution to problems, including audit of quality performance by operators.
- Maintain high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory work area.
- Prepare standard solutions for running routine and non-routine tests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years related work experience.
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to interpret graphs, read measurements and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Demonstrate microbial knowledge helpful.
