Job Summary Working collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals to develop innovative and sustainable designs. Within a dynamic design team, the Junior Mechanical Designer plays a fundamental role in the detail engineering and production of heating, cooling, plumbing, and low-carbon energy systems for different building types and applications. The Junior Designer performs tasks as per the instructions provided by the Intermediate and Senior Design Staff, including but not limited to setting up 2D drawings or 3D building models, performing engineering calculations, drafting, and coordinating with the design team, equipment suppliers, and constructors, to put together design packages to submit to the client. Responsibilities & Qualifications Please include your transcripts in your application ** Key Accountabilities Performs drafting tasks HVAC, Fire Protection and Plumbing drafting as per mark-ups provided by Design Staff Size HVAC and plumbing systems to suit codes, standards and requirements provided by Design Staff Perform heating, cooling and ventilation load calculations Ensure applicable sections of the Introba design checklist are being followed Ensure Introba’s drafting standards are being followed Set up Revit models or AutoCAD drawing files Maintain AutoCAD files and Revit models Co-ordinate mechanical requirements with other mechanical services (with support as needed) Completes a detailed check of work prior to returning finished product to the Designer Knowledge Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings Some knowledge of building services codes and standards Technical Proficiency in HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection system design Technical Proficiency in AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD design and drafting Qualifications and Experience 0-3 years of experience in a professional engineering design environment University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering AutoCAD experience coupled with some design experience in HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems AutoDesk Revit Registered EIT preferred Additional Information Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $60,000 - $75,000 annually for this position and local market.
