Join us, grow with us, and together, let's shape the future of biological discovery. ‎ About the opportunity We are seeking for proactive, curious, motivated and quick-learning candidates to join QIAGEN in a program of internship positions to fulfill the roles of Jr Engineers and Scientists in the department of Product Excellence Integrated Assays, within the Center of Excellence in Microfluidics, Integrated Assays and Materials Engineering located at QIAGEN Barcelona. This is an onsite role. The successful candidates will be integrated in a multidisciplinary team of Scientists and Engineers that investigate and solve complex problems in technical fields such as microfluidics, materials science, molecular biology, data analysis, to support the development and troubleshooting of cutting-edge In-Vitro-Diagnostics products sold worldwide. Your profile Currently studying a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Scientific or Engineering disciplines (Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular biologist, Physics, Chemistry, Nanoscience, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Materials Engineering, etc.) Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges with a proactive attitude. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in exploring innovative solutions. Self-organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis, and basic knowledge of programming languages such as R-project, Python; familiarity with MariaDB and APIs is desirable. Ability to communicate, write documentation, and collaborate with team members at all levels in Catalan, Spanish and English. What you will gain from this experience You will be assigned a dedicated tutor that will mentor you through your initial steps in a professional career. You will be integrated in a young, dynamic, multidisciplinary team where exciting problems and challenges are addressed and solved every day. You will be introduced to the working environment and processes of a multinational corporation in the Healthcare space. You will deepen your knowledge in one or more technical areas of high demand, such as: molecular biology, PCR, dPCR, infectious diseases, data analytics, optics, microfluidics, materials engineering, among others. Your tasks Participate in experiments involving different analytical and lab equipment, assisting in setup, operation and data interpretation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Clinical, Medical) to ensure that new improvements are continuously integrated into our products. Analyze data from different tests and experiments, and generate reports, KPIs, and conclusions. Conduct laboratory tasks under the guidance of senior team members. Duration & Hours This internship is expected to last 6 to 12 months. Ideal commitment of 25 hours per week (20min to 40max), with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.
