About The Role

Head of Consumer & Core Power Solutions Business Unit

Role Purpose

Lead Power Integrations’ Core Power Solutions Business Unit, owning full P&L responsibility and end-to-end strategy across the company’s largest and most established business.

This role combines market leadership, portfolio management, and execution excellence to sustain and strengthen Power Integrations’ leadership across consumer, communications, and low-power industrial applications.

The BU integrates segment strategy, product definition, and execution to ensure long-term competitiveness, profitability, and durability of the company’s core franchise, while delivering focused innovation aligned to clear market and financial returns.

Business Ownership & Performance

  • Own full BU P&L including revenue stability, gross margin performance, and market share leadership
  • Define pricing strategy, product mix, and lifecycle management to optimize profitability and return on investment
  • Build and manage multi-year plans focused on sustained revenue, margin expansion, and portfolio vitality
  • Drive accountability for design wins, production continuity, and customer retention
  • Analyze market dynamics, cost structures, and competitive positioning to inform business decisions.

Core Responsibilities

Business Unit Leadership

  • Own full BU P&L including revenue stability, gross margin performance, and market share leadership
  • Define pricing strategy, product mix, and lifecycle management to optimize profitability and return on investment
  • Build and manage multi-year plans focused on sustained revenue, margin expansion, and portfolio vitality
  • Drive accountability for design wins, production continuity, and customer retention
  • Analyze market dynamics, cost structures, and competitive positioning to inform business decisions

Integrated Product & Engineering Leadership

Lead the BU’s product, applications, and system engineering activities

Drive tight alignment between

  • Market requirements
  • Product definition
  • Cost and performance targets
  • Oversee development from concept through product introduction and volume production

Drive innovation in

  • Integration and system simplification
  • Cost and footprint optimization
  • Manufacturability and scalability

New Product Definition (NPD) & System Applications

  • Lead the NPD / System Applications teams responsible for defining next-generation core power solutions
  • Translate customer requirements into clear product definitions and platform strategies
  • Develop reference designs and system-level approaches that enable efficient product deployment at scale
  • Ensure strong alignment between customer needs, product capabilities, and cost targets

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Own relationships with key OEMs, ODMs, and distribution partners across high-volume markets
  • Ensure deep understanding of customer cost, performance, and supply requirements
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring roadmap alignment and competitive positioning
  • Drive consistency and responsiveness across global customer engagements

Cross-Functional Alignment & Execution

Partner with Product & Technology leadership to align BU initiatives with platform reuse and technology roadmaps

Coordinate with Go-To-Market Enablement to ensure

  • Strong product launches
  • Field readiness
  • Effective channel and distribution execution
  • Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and quality

Operating Leadership

Establish a clear operating cadence across the BU, including

  • Portfolio performance and lifecycle reviews
  • Cost and margin tracking
  • Design win and pipeline management
  • EOL planning and execution
  • Drive a culture of execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Profile & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in power semiconductors or power electronics, with strong exposure to high-volume markets
  • Proven ownership of P&L or equivalent business responsibility, including margin management and portfolio optimization

Deep expertise in

  • Consumer and communications power applications
  • Low-power industrial systems
  • High-volume semiconductor business models

Strong track record of

  • Managing mature, high-revenue product portfolios
  • Driving cost reduction and margin expansion
  • Sustaining market leadership in competitive environments
  • Experience leading integrated teams across product management, applications engineering, and engineering
  • Strong understanding of distribution-driven and high-volume customer models

Demonstrated ability to balance

Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is $264,988 to $328,772.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
