About The Role

Optme Group is looking for experienced Class 2 HGV Drivers to support a major logistics operation at Gatwick Airport. This isn’t long-haul work – you’ll be making short, fixed runs between the Gatwick Consolidation Centre and the Airside Operation.

Rate of Pay: £18.73 per hour (plus Holiday and Pension)
Shifts Pattern: 4 on 4 off ( 2 Days , 2 Nights , 4 Off )
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Timing: Example times below
Staff parking
Weekly pay (Every Friday)
Temp to Perm (performance-based)

Key Duties

Drive a Class 2 vehicle between two fixed airport sites (short distance only)
Load, unload and deliver goods
Collect returns and empty equipment for return to the consolidation centre
Follow all customer-specific and airport procedures
Maintain regular contact with the warehouse management team
Check all goods against the manifest and report any discrepancies
Visually inspect items for damage and record any issues promptly
Secure loads correctly and ensure they stay within weight limits
Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete Ops 13 paperwork
Comply with working time rules, CPC requirements and tachograph regulations
Perform any reasonable additional duties as required

Requirements

You must hold a Full UK Driving License.
You must hold a valid CPC and Digi Card.
Great understanding of the English language.
Passionate and take pride in their work.
Must be able to provide 5-year checkable history, in order for us to obtain your blue airside pass.
Drug and alcohol testing will be required prior to employment.

Shifts

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a rolling rota.
