About The Role
Control Room Operator
The Control Room Operator is responsible for a wide variety of duties within the poultry pro cessing operation . The role is responsible for evaluating and monitoring systems and procedures to maximize productivity and consisten cy . The Control Room Operator coordinates with all team members to craft the daily, weekly , and even monthly schedules for poultry processing .
The position is responsible for handling unforeseen problems in production , which may require them to reallocate resources between different teams. They ensure everyone involved in poultry processing has the necessary tools and materials to perform their duties effectively. Some additional responsibilities include:
- Adhering to workplace safety guidelines and quality systems standards.
- Conducting d aily setup, configuration , and operation of the product distribution system.
- Creat ing and distribut ing daily product distribution schedules.
- Monitor ing incoming bird quality and weights to make the necessary modifications to pro cessing plan.
- Monitor ing product flow and line capacity to maintain a smooth operation.
- Updat ing inventory, operation efficiency and demand fulfillment reports daily, or as instructed by manager. This includes finished goods and WIP Numbers
- Assessing procedures and making recommendations for improvement.
- Completing daily reports and taking part in required operations meetings.
- Keeping track of supply and material inventories needed for consistent operation of the Product Distribution System.
- Liais ing with the Maintenance team and Stor es team to ensure the equipment is adequately maintained and equipment, tools, or material that are needed are always available.
- Liais ing with the Plant Manager to ensure that there is alignment with demand and production.
- Audit daily processing efficiency and productivity, check adherence to schedule.
- All other duties assigned .
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working with poultry processing systems, food safety, and automated equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in O perations M anagement , Production Management, Business Agriculture, Industrial engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Ability to prepare detailed activity reports and presentations as well as good verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, and schedule forms.
- Ability to operate specific equipment, tools , and specific computer software.
- Willingness and ability to undergo applicable training on the company’s specific systems.
- Good judgement, sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Work experience in scheduling, logistics , distribution of perishable foods is preferred.
- Knowledge of broiler bird types and corresponding growth rates preferred.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office .
