About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and refinement of Iron Roughnecks and related equipment. This role is crucial in driving innovation and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our mechanical systems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in machine design and a passion for creating cutting-edge solutions.
- Provide engineering expertise and support for mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Conceptualize innovative mechanical design solutions, considering safety, efficiency, and industry standards.
- Perform stress analysis on mechanical components and systems to ensure their integrity and durability.
- Produce detailed design layouts and drawings, adhering to engineering standards and best practices.
- Conduct tolerance studies and review design documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
- Research and specify purchased component parts, ensuring compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and implement test plans for components and systems, validating their performance and functionality.
- Generate comprehensive engineering reports, documenting design processes, analyses, and outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest hardware and software technologies to enhance our equipment offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to participate in the initial equipment conceptualization, development, and specification.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on machine design.
- Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in the development of machine and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Creo, Inventor, or SolidWorks) and FEA tools (Ansys or SolidWorks Simulation).
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, welding, or related hobbies is highly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working in an ISO or API Q1 certified manufacturing facility is an asset.
- Familiarity with industry specifications such as API 6A, 7K, and 8C is desirable.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and their design and implementation is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
