About The Role

  • Engineering specification, review, and selection of electrical and automation systems for:
  • Container cranes (STS, RMQC)
  • Yard cranes (RTGC, RMGC)
  • Bulk handling equipment (Ship loader/unloader, stacker-reclaimer)
  • Interface management and engineering deliverable approvals
  • Ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety and performance standards
  • Testing and commissioning of Electrical & automation system of the terminal equipment according to the terminal project requirement and long-term shared goal of the team.
  • Project Management:
  • To define the container terminal equipment specification, Electrical Engineering, Automation scheme, Operating philosophy, operational flow, business plan, interface specification with TOS, selection of Electrical, Instrumentation & automation sub system equipment to meet the business requirement and explore options of various efficiency enhancement automation features, technology exploration and functions & select the optimum solutions.
  • Active participation from Project Conceptualization to design, selection, engineering, commissioning and technical support in the Equipment Project Engineering for terminal Equipment Electrical & Automation to ensure the long-term benefit for Port operation both in CAPEX & OPEX.
  • Planning the optimum facility with various option analysis and recommend the best suitable equipment Automation system, Sub system & terminal (Container & Bulk) automations system based on the several factors technology, CAPEX, OPEX, Productivity, safety, efficiency and outcome etc.
  • Responsible for basic, detail engineering of equipment automation system, sub system, terminal interface, commissioning and handing over as per the project scope definition.
  • Preparation of design basis, technical specification, vendor & bid evaluation, gap analysis, interface management, detail Engineering, design optimization ensuring high technology, high quality, safety, reliability, efficiency and availability of the Equipment.
  • Engineering deliverable approval and interface management, testing - commissioning of Electrical & automation system of the terminal equipment according to the terminal project requirement and long-term shared goal of the team.
  • Maintain value engineering, Innovation, development, processes, cross functional interface, safety and monitoring of work progress for completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • System Integration:
  • Integrate Electrical, instrumentation and Automation systems with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Verify automation solutions drawing such as PLC and automation architecture diagram for equipment and terminal operation to enhance machine operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications, review of drawings, calculations in view of safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configuration, changes and updates for record.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all Technical specifications comply with safety regulations, standards and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and machine performance and provide feedback for future equipment engineering projects.
  • Stay updated with the latest automation technologies and best practices to enhance commissioning quality.

Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech with Electrical / Instrumentation & Control Engineering with 8+ years of experience, Expertise in Port terminal cranes control system & Automation.
  • Working in such an organization where their role is working with global stockholders, Port terminal and hands on testing and commissioning experience in international projects.
  • Hands on experience managing the interfaces with cross functional department and terminal operating system.
  • Knowledge of Electrical system, operation, basics Mechanical & Hydraulic engineering and highest safety procedure are added advantages in cranes and container terminal.

Work Exposure

  • Shall have exposure for Port Automation Engineering, Strong understanding of check PLC logic, integration with SCADA, IT system and control system of Port Equipment and execution of terminal equipment projects.
  • Automation system for Port Equipment projects such as STS, RTGC, Bus bar System, RMGC, GSU, BWSR, reach stackers used in container terminal and Bulk material handling system.
  • Automated terminal & TOS interface etc.
