Telco Engineer

• We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Market Securities IT Department.
• You'll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining the global networks within
• the organisation and between offices and different locations. You'll be involved in designing new
• networks and implementation.
• Your aim is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide
• maximum performance for your users and the global infrastructure, which will include but is not

limited to

• Routers
• Switches
• Gateways
• Firewalls
• Security
• VPN
• Appliances

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• Monitor network performance and integrity
• Resolve issues that have been escalated, by troubleshooting cloud/third party providers

and local infrastructure

• Automate tasks and monitor effectiveness
• Mentor team members and give advice on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster

recovery)

• Communicate with users when required.
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
• Project management

Requirements

• Proven hands-on network engineering experience (Palo Alto)
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP would be desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS,

ToS, MPLS, WSD)

• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model, WAN infrastructure and management

of Layer 2

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools
• Ability to sustain a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping

with pressure at work

• Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients
• Strong communicator (verbal and written)
• Able to work in a team environment and under pressurised timelines
• Excellent attention to detail and someone who will look to improve processes where

relevant

• Degree or training in Computer Science or a related subject is highly desirable
