Internship - Investigation of Forward-Looking Synthetic Aperture Radar (ADAS)

About The Role

We are looking for an intern (m/f/diverse) in the area of Radar ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) from  August 2026  on for at least  6 months  at our location Lindau (Germany). 

Your tasks include

  • Supporting in Radar pre-development w.r.t algorithms, signal processing and radar data evaluation
  • Literature research on Forward-Looking Synthetic Aperture Radar principles and current state-of-the-art methods 
  • Setup of simulation environment to model FL-SAR data acquisition and platform motion scenarios 
  • Implementation of basic SAR signal processing chain (range compression, azimuth processing) adapted for forward-looking geometry 
  • Investigation and implementation of motion compensation techniques for non-linear trajectories 
  • Development and evaluation of imaging algorithms specific to FL-SAR (e.g., backprojection, Doppler-based methods) 
  • Analysis of resolution, ambiguity, and sidelobe behavior under different system configurations 
  • Optional: Comparison of FL-SAR imaging performance against conventional side-looking SAR approaches 

You are wondering if you are a good fit for the Internship  -  Investigation of Forward-Looking Synthetic Aperture Radar (ADAS)? Here are the qualifications we are looking for: 

  • Student (m/f/diverse) in Electrical Engineering or a similar field of study 
  • Basic knowledge in Radar and embedded Design 
  • Good IT skills and experience in MATLAB and/or Python & C/C++ 
  • Basic experience in development of IT projects 
  • Any experience in the field of Radar, RF and/or antennas is preferable 
  • Very good english language skills (written and spoken) are absolutely essential for us

In addition to these qualifications we are also looking for certain characeristics and traits

  • Interest in working in an international team
  • Soft skills (quick comprehension, analytical thinking, independent work, high level of commitment)

Additionally, we require a confirmation from your university regarding the completion of a mandatory internship in order to process your application.
