Junior Transport Engineer

About The Role
The team is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of transport network infrastructure, supporting the delivery of reliable and high-performance communication services. Leveraging expertise in SDH, DWDM, and IP transport technologies, team members contribute to network planning, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting activities. Through close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, the group plays a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of modern telecommunications networks.
- Support the design and configuration of transport network elements.
- Assist with installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transport network equipment.
- Monitor transport network performance and support fault resolution.
- Document network configurations, topology, and changes.
- Collaborate with radio and core network engineers on end-to-end connectivity.
- Support the planning, configuration, and testing of IP/MPLS, Ethernet, and optical transport networks.
- Participate in the integration and verification of transport network elements.
- Assist in monitoring network performance and identifying areas for optimization.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving issues within the transport layer.
- Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of transport networks (SDH/DWDM/IP transport).
- Experience with network equipment configuration or lab work.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and topologies.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI model, routing, switching).
- Familiarity with IP/MPLS concepts.
- Proficiency in English and Ukrainian both written and verbal.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with network management systems.
- Basic knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., vendor transport/networking courses).
- Knowledge of optical transport technologies (e.g., DWDM, OTN).
- Experience with network simulation or modeling tools.
- Basic scripting skills for network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
