Rotoblast Operator

To operate equipment to clean dirt, scale, and materials from metal objects with blasts of shot.

Essential Functions

• Loads, operates and monitors roto-blast equipment and adjusts controls on equipment to regulate pressure and amount of abrasive blast.
• Performs minor maintenance on equipment and notifies repairer when unable to correct malfunction.
• Transports tools to and from specific production areas.
• Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

• No minimum educational requirements.
• One to three months of related experience or on-the-job training.

Physical

• Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day.
• Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands or arms; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Must have good peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on work.
• Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high noise levels, and vibration to hands.
• Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.

Mental

• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions, including maintenance instructions.
• Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
