  • Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer assigned by the Department Manager, the Electrical Designer will be responsible for electrical design drafting, modeling, and documentation support for projects from detailed engineering through construction and commissioning.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings and models for complete electrical packages, including:
  • Single line diagrams
  • Hazardous area classification drawings
  • Grounding and lightning protection systems
  • Power layout drawings
  • Cable schedules and cable drum schedules
  • Lighting and small power systems
  • Schematics, wiring, and interconnection diagrams
  • Electrical installation detailed drawings
  • Cable tray layouts and routings
  • Electrical Equipment Layouts
  • Telecommunication drawings
  • 3D Modelling: Cable route, power & earthing, lighting & small power, and telecommunication
  • Design Calculation which includes voltage drop, lighting illumination, and cable tray fill calculations
  • Prepare material requisitions for electrical bulk materials, including technical bid evaluations
  • Review vendor’s documentation
  • Prepare Electrical Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
  • Perform site checks, surveys, and installation verification
  • Assist in preparation of subcontract requisition for electrical installation work
  • Assist in preparation of electrical installation specifications and testing and commissioning procedures
  • Support construction supervision, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Diploma in Electrical or equivalent with a min of 3 years of experience in Refinery Petrochemical / Chemical / Power / Pharmaceutical Plant Projects
  • Knowledge international codes & standards
  • Able to use electrical design / drafting software for 2D drawings and 3D modelling i.e. AutoCAD, PDS, E3D, PDMS, Smart Plant 3D
  • Knowledge of engineering databases.
  • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
  • Possess good interpersonal skills with good written and spoken in English
  • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
  • Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
