About The Role
Key Responsibilities Design and Development Leadership: Lead the design and development lifecycle of critical genset peripheral mechanical components (e.g., Cooling Systems, Air intake, Exhaust Systems, Genset mounting, Acoustic Enclosures). This also includes overseeing FEA/CFD studies, approving design specifications, and driving DFM/DFA best practices. Application Engineering: Lead the Application Engineering function for a specified genset platform range, translating customer and market requirements into design specifications. The goal is to optimize platform designs for cost, performance, quality, and reliability. Team Management and Strategic Planning: Mentor and manage a team of mechanical design engineers, establish departmental goals, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement in design processes. Collaboration and Compliance: Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams (Engine, Electrical, Sourcing, etc.) and ensure all designs comply with national and international standards (e.g., ISO, CE, UL). Experience: 8 to 14 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and development, with significant experience in the Genset/Power Generation industry. Leadership: Minimum 3-5 years in a managerial role, with proven experience leading a design engineering team. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of genset packaging, expertise in genset peripheral components (radiators, exhausts, canopies), and proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (FEA/CFD). Skills: Strong project management, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
