JOB SUMMARY The Production Planning & Scheduling Specialist ensures the timely planning, ordering, and scheduling of insulated glass (IG) for the Iowa and North Carolina plants. By collaborating with Customer Support, Drafting, Scheduling, and Production teams, this role helps maintain material availability, coordinate production, and support on-time customer delivery. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but will provide task and responsibility direction within the department on day-to-day functions. WHAT YOU’LL DO Order Cardinal insulated glass (IG) to support window production requirements. Schedule manufactured insulated glass (IG) to meet production demands. Collaborate with Customer Support, Drafting, and Production to resolve glass-related questions, changes, and issues. Monitor glass availability and proactively communicate potential shortages, delays, or scheduling conflicts to minimize production disruptions. Maintain accurate scheduling records, purchase orders, reorder documentation, and related order information. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling efficiency, ordering accuracy, and material flow. Additional duties that are needed to help drive the Woodgrain mission, vision, and values may be assigned. Education/Experience/Certifications Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. At least 3 years of experience working in manufacturing, production scheduling, purchasing, material planning, or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management Working knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred Essential Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, purchasing, and material planning. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize competing priorities and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions independently and collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to analyze production and scheduling data to support operational efficiency and customer requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across Customer Support, Drafting, Production, Purchasing, and supplier teams. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with little to no issue dealing with multiple tasks and projects at one time. Ability to work efficiently with team members from different geographical locations and expertise backgrounds.
