Field Service Engineer

About The Role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate installation and set-up equipment & retrofit kit at customer site which include but not limited to vision system, test contacting, interfacing with other sub-system.
- Perform acceptance of protocol/buyoff with customer upon installation and set up within the timeframe. Provide equipment operation & basic maintenance training to customers.
- Troubleshoot by analyzing on-site machine issues raised by customers and providing technical solutions.
- Understand customer service process flow (Company ISO) and apply accordingly through daily activity and in-house/ on-site support, to fulfil company’s vision and quality policy.
- Responsible for following up with activity for assigned customer. Field Service Engineer is the main window for communication between Cohu and customers on daily service support (including factory/ engineering support)/ issue on the machine.
- Timely reporting of all equipment issues to concerned staff and update WebQC accordingly
- Prepare on-site technical report when required.
Requirements
- Degree in Micro-mechanics/ Mechanics or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in semiconductor industry.
- Strong background in mechanical/ electro-mechanics or equivalent field.
- Well organized and competent in handling assigned projects.
- Fluent in English language (spoken and/ written skills).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of the Terret machine to identify and address potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide on-site support and training to clients, offering guidance on machine operation and best practices.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement improvements and upgrades to the Terret machine.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and client interactions for future reference.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during machine operation and maintenance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance machine performance.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for the Terret machine.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the department manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar field service engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of Terret machine operations and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Willingness to travel for on-site support and client engagements.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is preferred.
