Provides aircraft maintenance services to university-based and transient aircraft; maintains, repairs and adjusts aircraft engines and components; maintains and repairs aircraft frames; flight controls, landing gear, flight instrument systems and related components; performs airframe and engine regular interval inspections; maintains and calibrates supporting tools and equipment.

Additional Information: Work schedule is subject to changes in shift, hours and/or days as operations dictate; Pre-Employment Screening Information: This is a DOT identified safety sensitive position. All candidates must pass DOT pre-employment drug testing prior to being hired.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirement: Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent educ/exp

Experience

Required: Airframe and Powerplant mechanic license issued by FAA; valid driver's license; this is a DOT identified safety-sensitive position, and candidate will be subject to DOT random drug testing while employed in this position.

Desired: FAA Inspection Authorization; knowledge of (1) safety practices; skill in (2) mechanics, (3) operating ground equipment, (4) operating aircraft; ability to (5) understand aircraft mechanical systems, (6) calculate fractions, decimals and percentages, (7) read simple sentences with common vocabulary, (8) cooperate with co-workers, (9) show dexterity

Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $24.95 - $37.43

Final offers for positions will be based on candidate credentials, internal equity, and CWA/University approval.
