Position Summary

As a Residential Direct Support Professional, you’ll play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, including medication administration, meal planning, transportation, and personal care. You’ll help clients manage their budgets, maintain a safe and clean environment, and achieve their personal goals through Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily Support: Provide day-to-day services in residential settings, including training, meal preparation, and shopping.
  • Health & Safety: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor health concerns, and maintain emergency equipment. Report health changes and incidents promptly.
  • Financial Assistance: Help clients manage budgets, maintain spending records, and organize receipts.
  • Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in community activities and accessing local resources.
  • Client Development: Work closely with clients to meet their personal goals, ensuring PCSPs are implemented and documented effectively.
  • Home Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe living environment, assisting with cleaning, laundry, and other household tasks.

QualificationsQualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the past 36 months).
  • Automobile liability insurance as required by the State of Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Working with people with developmental disabilities.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and documentation.
  • Commitment to maintaining the rights, dignity, and respect of all clients.
