Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Volvo, located in Gothenburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive development, with the ability to work independently on mechanical design projects from concept through to drawing release.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct mechanical design work, from initial concepts to finalized drawings.
Ensure designs align with automotive production and industrialization processes.
Work proficiently in CAD design software, preferably Creo .
Demonstrate knowledge of systems such as KOLA, TIKA, PDM Link , and the Volvo release process (preferable).
Establish drawings and manage the design process independently.
Apply personal creativity, problem-solving skills, and take accountability to drive results.

Qualifications

Solid automotive development experience with knowledge of production and industrialization processes.

Proficient in CAD design , with a preference for Creo software.

Experience in the design process, including creating and releasing technical drawings.
Familiarity with Volvo’s internal systems and processes is highly advantageous.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and a results-driven mindset.
