$23 - $26.50/hour

Position Summary

As an Interim Lead Direct Service Professional (DSP), you’ll be an active part of our residential crisis programs supporting adults. Our Interim Lead DSP's work directly as DSP's with the residents during regular DSP shifts. When needed, as filing as a lead, your responsibilities include:

Supervise Community Crisis Home staff as they carry out the facilities program design including but not limited to

Responding safely and effectively to crisis behaviors

Supporting daily living skills and independence

Coordinating outings, appointments, medications, and meals

Maintaining the home environment and assisting with household upkeep

Engaging clients in enriching activities

Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team

Satisfactory completion of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1 and 2, 35-hour competency- based training course and a pass on the competency test within one year of start date.

Knowledge of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by clients, including ability to communicate with such clients (e.g. ASL/Sign Language)

Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable law and regulation

Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records

Ability to direct the work of others, when applicable

Ability to read and write in the English language, in order to perform essential duties.

Possess basic mathematical skills, in order to assist individual with medications, shopping, cooking, and budgeting.

Successful completion of the on-site orientation process.

Successful completion of a minimum of 25 hours of continuing education within each twelve-month period following the assumption of duties. Training must include Trauma Informed Care, Person Centered Planning, Positive Behavior Supports and Cultural Competency

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 3 months Supervisory experience
  • Minimum 6 month experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and displaying severe verbal and physical behaviors
  • Availability to work every weekend
  • Ability to work all of the following locations in California: Orangevale, Rio Linda, Elverta, and Shingle Springs
  • Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60-days of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of residential care and crisis response

Pre-Employment Requirements

Valid and current auto insurance

CA Driver's License

High School Diploma

  • Successful criminal background check
  • Reference verification
  • Negative TB test

Compensation

  • $23 - $26.50/hour
  • Incentive pay factored into hourly rate for premium shifts on schedule
  • Paid training (RBT, DSP I/II, CPI, Ukeru)
