Patient Care Technician

• DescriptionPatient Care TechnicianWe are currently looking to add a full-time Patient Care Technician at the Wolfe Surgery Center in West Des Moines.
• The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for a blend of many duties within the Surgery Center.

Responsibilities include

Clerical

• -Putting patient charts and discharge instruction packets together
• -Dissembling charts after discharge
• -Data entry
• -Calling physicians’ offices for History and Physical Examination information

Patient Care

• -Help patients to restrooms.
• -Obtaining vital signs or EKG and reporting results to nursing staff.
• -Under the direction supervision of the nursing staff, obtain blood glucose levels, patient urine HCG and admissions/discharge of patients.
• -Helping with OR room set-up and turnovers.
• -Transporting patients.

Housekeeping

-Stocking rooms daily and checking supplies

-Assisting the OR with room turnovers and setups.

-Properly disinfecting stretchers, chairs, bedside tables, and monitors.

-Changing wall suction containers and/or needle boxes as needed.

-Remove linen/trash from recovery room and bringing it to the proper receptacle.

One year of Medical Experience is required

Early morning availability is required
