About The Role
Administrative AssistantThe City of Tomball will be accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. The role will provide full-time administrative, customer service, tourism, facility, volunteer, and event support for the Marketing & Tourism Department. Provides consistent coverage at the Tomball Depot and Information Center, assists visitors and volunteers, supports City events and tourism initiatives, coordinates KTTF 95.3 radio programming and updates, and assists with departmental administrative and financial functions. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, Saturdays, and special events as needed.
Administrative Assistant functions include but are not limited to the following.
Facility & Visitor Services: Provide consistent coverage at the Depot and Information Center; welcome and assist visitors; provide information about Tomball attractions, events, and tourism offerings; distribute marketing materials; and monitor facilities to ensure compliance with City policies.
Volunteer & Event Coordination: Coordinate Depot volunteers and assist with City festivals, Farmers Market activities, event setup, giveaways, and programming.
Marketing & Tourism Support: Assist with social media, photography, videography, Freebie Friday, promotional efforts, influencer itineraries, and tourism initiatives.
Radio & Communications: Coordinate KTTF 95.3 programming schedules, updates, and promotional needs.
Administrative Support: Assist with purchasing, invoices, vendor coordination, scheduling, records, and other departmental administrative and financial functions.
Community Center Support: Provide operational and customer service support for the Community Center as needed.
Mascot & Promotional Support: Coordinate Rusty appearances and related event logistics.
Customer Service: Provide professional assistance to residents, visitors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
Team Support: Perform other related duties as assigned.

- QualificationsEducation HS_GED
- Experience Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Licensing Valid Driver's License

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills towards Depot/Info Center attendees.

- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to assist with social media, photography, videography, and promotional activities.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to perform light event setup and breakdown.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, Saturdays, and special events as needed.
Salary Range
- Hiring range - $39,811 - $41,802 ($19.14 - $20.10)
- Salary range - $39,811 - $59,738
- Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
