POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for ensuring internal control systems, analysis, and standard operating procedures governing gaming and non-gaming areas are properly designed, implemented, and functioning across City of Dreams Mediterranean. Plays a critical role in ensuring integrity,compliance and accuracy of the audit process. The responsibilities are technical, regulatory, and leadership functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight
- Ensures Gaming Regulations issued by the gaming regulator are adequately addressed by Standard Operating Procedures of the relevant departments at each property. Report any deviation to the relevant department and follow up on the resolution
- Designs, applies and maintains audit procedures to ensure gaming activity is audited in accordance with regulatory requirements and in a manner necessary to ensure the safeguarding of company assets and accurate reporting of Casino revenues and expenses. Such audits will include the daily collection and review of all gaming/non gaming audit documents and gaming reports for the following areas: (1) Table games; (2) Slots; (3) Cage; (4) Junket compliance; (5) intercompany casino transactions; and (6) other non gaming areas as required
- Oversee the audit plan and execution
- Ensure proper documentation and evidence collection.
- May acts as a contact with gaming regulator, internal and external auditors and other authorities with respect to all gaming and non-gaming audit matters
- Reviews and files reports to gaming regulator and other authorities regarding revenue, tax rolling and other items
- Preparation of daily general ledger entries to record gaming and non-gaming revenue and direct expenses.
- Reviews and analyzes gaming and non-gaming data and activity, general ledger accounts and follow up on unusual or significant fluctuations
- Prepare the audit findings report
- Evaluate internal controls and provide suggestions for improvements
- Identify and report fraud for investigation
- Participates in the month-end departmental review process
- Team supervision and training
- Participates in preparation of property level forecasts of key volume indicators and KPI
- Analyses a variety of issues on an ad hoc basis as requested by management
- Audits departmental operating performance on a periodic basis versus budgetary, historical and industry benchmarks
- Staff management and teamwork to ensure team spirit and job satisfaction within the team
- Recommends and/or execute management policies to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, discharge, re-assign, or discipline employees
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
- 5 years of progressive work experience in financial roles will be an advantage
- Gaming or hospitality experience is a plus
- Proven track record in developing creative and innovative solutions to complex problems is a plus
Education
- Must hold a degree from a major, accredited, four-year institution in the fields of hotel administration/hospitality, finance/accounting, engineering, statistics, business administration or mathematics
- Post graduate degree from a major, accredited institution or professional qualification relevant to the role (ACA, ACCA, CFA) is a plus
PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Advanced knowledge of gaming systems including slot and table game player tracking and slot accounting
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Micros Opera and Infrasys Point of Sale is an advantage
- Anticipates and assesses issues, risks, or opportunities facing the Company and applies effective, creative solutions or new approaches and practices
- Clearly understands the strategic Vision of the Company and how it impacts on the Business Unit/function
