About The Role

We are on the lookout for a Machinery Specialist (Mobile Plant Operator) . In this role, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks related to machinery operation, servicing, and support, helping ensure the orchard runs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Mowing, mulching, operating forklifts, truck driving, weed spraying and atom sprayers (for selected operators).
Transporting equipment and materials across orchards.
Perform daily pre-start checks, assist with preventative maintenance, and clean equipment during shutdowns
Helping the orchard team when needed in busy times.
Operate machinery safely and responsibly, with an understanding of its capabilities and performance efficiency, in accordance with the operator’s manual.
Carry out timely preventative maintenance to keep machinery running smoothly, prevent costly breakdowns, and support uninterrupted orchard operations.
Accurately recording data for operational records in a timely and tidy manner.

About you

1–3 years’ experience operating farm vehicles such as tractors and related attachments
Kiwifruit orchard experience – an advantage but not essential
The initiative to understand orchard needs and respond accordingly
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical issue
A Forklift Operator Licence – preferred but not required
A willingness to work with agrichemicals (full training and PPE provided)
Your own vehicle, a current driver’s licence, and confidence driving a manual
