Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A fast-moving, pre-seed-stage fintech AI startup building the AI-native operations platform for private markets is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their small founding team in Berlin. In this role, you'll own technical delivery end-to-end — turning real customer workflows into production-grade AI agent deployments — while feeding your learnings directly back into the core product. This is a high-impact, high-ownership position at a company operating at the intersection of AI and private market operations (fund accounting, treasury, transfer agency, and more).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the full project lifecycle from initial discovery through production launch of AI-driven fund accounting agent workflows
• Work directly with private-market operations teams to map workflows, surface friction points, and identify adoption barriers
• Convert customer processes into production-grade AI-driven workflows using the company's platform and agent orchestration engine
• Build customer-tailored prototypes, iterating rapidly and making informed scope adjustments along the way
• Feed deployment insights back into the product roadmap and core platform development
• Identify recurring patterns to develop reusable components and standardized delivery approaches

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Eligibility to work in Germany without visa sponsorship and willingness to work on-site in Berlin
• Proven ability to transform customer workflows into production deployments of AI/ML-driven systems
• End-to-end technical delivery ownership, from discovery to production and feedback loops
• Experience collaborating with operations or domain-specialist stakeholders (private markets / financial services background a strong plus)
• Proficiency deploying AI/ML systems to production environments, including monitoring, rollback, and production-grade tooling
• 1–3 years of relevant engineering experience

Nice to Have

• Comfort operating in a small founding-team environment with high ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Familiarity with any part of the stack: TypeScript, NestJS, Postgres, Prisma, Inngest, Mastra, React, TanStack, Tailwind
• Experience at or with companies in the AI agents, financial automation, or private markets space

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience
• Early-stage equity opportunity at a pre-seed company with strong investor backing
• Direct impact on product direction and company trajectory
