Payroll & Rewards Specialist at APTIS Services

About The Role
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be responsible of the Group’s payroll processing with broader rewards and HR administration work outside the payroll cycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end monthly payroll for all Group entities in compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
- Maintain payroll data integrity within the HRMS and resolve discrepancies with Finance and entity GMs.
- Administer employee benefits (medical insurance, pension/retirement schemes, other Group benefits) and act as point of contact for providers.
- Track benefits costs and support renewal and provider negotiation processes.
- Compile and calculate termination, redundancy and severance allowance packages in line with applicable labour law and Group policy.
- Prepare retirement-related calculations and documentation, and support the compilation and negotiation of mutual agreement separation packages.
- Administer and maintain the time and attendance system(s) across entities, and reconcile data against payroll inputs.
- Review current time and attendance processes and recommend improvements or tooling changes.
- Contribute to salary survey participation, market benchmarking exercises and compilation of remuneration data for salary reviews.
- Support ad hoc HR administration, reporting and other rewards-related tasks as required by the Group HR Manager.
- Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing required documentation, responding to audit queries, providing payroll records and reconciliations, and implementing agreed corrective actions where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, social security, pension, and payroll-related legislation, and keep abreast of legislative changes affecting payroll and employee rewards.
- Any other cognate duties and responsibilities that are reasonably related to the position and assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or a related field; a professional payroll certification.
- 3-5 years' experience in payroll processing, ideally across multiple entities or a Group structure.
Knowledge and Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of Mauritian labour law and payroll-related statutory obligations; proficiency with an HRMS platform.
- BambooHR and/or Aletia experience; considered a plus.
- Exposure to time and attendance systems and salary benchmarking exercises.
Behavioural Competencies
- High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong discretion and confidentiality.
- Well organised across multiple entity deadlines.
