The Opportunity

You'll have the opportunity to work outdoors in a beautiful setting, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the orchard .

Pamu is expanding our horticulture operations and are looking for an orchard assistant to join the team in our 70-canopy hectare avocado orchard located in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands.

As an Orchard Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and productivity of our orchard. Your daily tasks will include a variety of hands-on activities such as:

• Mowing and spraying, e nsuring the orchard is well-maintained
• Fungicide and insecticide applications to maintain tree health and crop
• Contributing to pruning for optimal growth and fruit production
• Assisting with irrigation and fertigation inputs
• Harvesting

About You

You will be a passionate and reliable o rchard a ssistant (or someone with similar experience) and i deal ly you will have:

• Previous experience working in an orchard or similar agricultural environment
• Familiarity with orchard operations
• A n understanding of tree health management and basic pest control
• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, performing physically demanding tasks
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully
• A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to contribute to the daily running of the orchard
• A relevant NZ drivers’ licence

While prior experience in an orchard setting is ideal, we are also open to candidates with relevant experience in farming, or similar fields who are eager to learn and grow in this role.
