Job Description

Maintenance Engineer

Join our team and play a vital role in keeping our automated sortation systems, conveyors, and facility equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving a range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on plant and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, automation systems, motors, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, including work on bearings, belts, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Support the installation and upgrade of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations teams and provide clear shift handovers to ensure smooth site performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (minimum).
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within an industrial or automated environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, networks, hydraulics, and pneumatics is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
