About The Role

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Fabrication Machine Operator to support steel processing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating advanced CNC equipment to produce structural steel components while ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC equipment including plasma cutting systems, beam drill lines, and angle processing machines
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and production requirements
  • Safely load and position structural steel materials using overhead cranes and rigging tools
  • Monitor production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision and quality
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
  • Make minor program edits or adjustments based on material type, size, or thickness
  • Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety guidelines

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school experience is a plus

Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machinery in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing

Ability to read and understand structural steel drawings and fabrication documents

Proficiency with precision measuring instruments

Experience with material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts is preferred

Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a production setting
