About The Role

Role Purpose

This is a key role within the Corporate Finance and Investment Banking (CFIB) team focused on originating, structing and executing DCM transactions with WBG and FI clients of the bank. The role holder will focus on delivering sharia compliant financing solutions ADIB’s clients across its core markets and will work closely with coverage teams, other CFIB teams, as well as internal stakeholders (such as Shari’a and credit approvers) to support the origination of DCM transactions, development strategic relationships and provide solutions in alignment with ADIB’s risk appetite and strategy. The role involves supporting the origination, structuring, execution, and distribution of Islamic capital market transactions while contributing to ADIB’s positioning in the GCC Sukuk market.

Key Accountabilities of the role

  • Develop and assess credit metrics, valuations etc. using financial, economic, and operating data from multiple sources.
  • Employ different methodologies to provide context and benchmark financial forecasts using transaction multiples and peer comparables etc.
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Support the origination and execution of DCM mandates across Sovereign & Supranational, GRE, Financial Institution, and Corporate issuers.
  • Lead the transaction through the entire life cycle from pitching to financial closing including, inter alia, pricing, structuring, due diligence, documentation, syndication and closing.
  • Prepare pitch books and transaction materials such as teasers, information memorandums, and management presentations.
  • Managing key external and internal relationships with external counsel and key banks in the Sukuk space to support deal execution capabilities and ensure emerging issues are addressed.
  • Coordinate with ADIB Sharia department and the WBG Sharia team to anticipate and resolve structural considerations efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Sharia requirements, relevant Central Bank, HSA, other applicable regulations and ADIB's internal risk and compliance policies; achieve successful Sharia and internal audit outcomes with no high risk or repeat findings.
  • Proactive communication with key stakeholders to position the DCM business.
  • Support deepening of distribution capability within the Retail Bank to support execution of mandated transactions.
  • Conduct market analysis using Bloomberg and other data sources to update key stakeholders, identify prospective clients, build the DCM pipeline, and secure timely mandates
  • Evaluate issuer / obligor financial performance, capital structure, credit metrics and critically assess transaction parameters to support term sheet negotiations, pricing, credit analysis and syndication etc.
  • Demonstrate sound business analysis skills to assess and articulate business fundamentals, industry positioning, business cycle and growth prospects.
  • Identify and address key risks during due diligence, transaction structuring, credit approval and documentation stages.
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of market and business trends and material risk factors that impact credit quality and business / financial conditions; track and communicate relevant market and economic developments.
  • Assist the Head of DCM with project management, coordination with internal and external stakeholders and provide engagement through the transaction life cycle.
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate capabilities / expertise to manage deal dynamics and meet client requirements.
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of market and business trends and material risk factors that impact credit quality and business / financial conditions; track and communicate relevant market and economic developments.
  • Be able to work independently, adopt a proactive approach and take ownership for their area of responsibility and in support of the team’s core mandate.
  • Ensure regular communication with key stakeholders to position the DCM business and ensure emerging issues are addressed proactively.
  • Attend industry conferences, investor forums, and DCM-related events to enhance market visibility and client network.
  • Travel as needed to attend roadshows, client meetings, and transaction closings across ADIB’s core markets.
  • Support the head of DCM with building and managing the investor syndication process in collaboration with ADIB’s institutional, retail, and private banking teams.
  • Prepare syndicate update materials along with JLMs using tools like Bloomberg for ADIB to lead update calls.
  • Lead communications with syndicate groups on projects and coordinate investor and client interactions.
  • Manage Bloomberg live deal updates for the distribution list and key internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare investor marketing materials and support investor engagement pre- and post-deal.
  • Track investor appetite and maintain a dynamic distribution database to enhance outcomes.

Business Momentum

  • Renew and update the deals in pipeline reports on a regular basis to support business management.
  • Assist in developing and refining DCM operating procedures and workflow efficiencies.
  • Keep CFIB Head updated on major developments in relation to transactions under execution.

Risk, Audit and Compliance

  • Review / ensure all audit files are maintained and achieve satisfactory audit reviews.
  • Ensure all DCM activities are conducted in accordance with internal credit policy, regulatory standards, and Sharia guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Sharia requirements, relevant Central Bank and other applicable regulations and ADIB's internal risk and compliance policies; achieve successful Shariah and internal audit outcomes with no high risk or repeat findings.
  • Manage deal folders, support internal reporting and portfolio monitoring requirements on a timely basis.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role

  • Strong commercial mindset and execution discipline, committed to integrity, client satisfaction, and Sharia-compliance.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Advanced technical proficiency with spreadsheets and presentations, business intelligence and data analytics. Proficient in Bloomberg Terminal for data analysis and leading syndicate and client communications.
  • The time-sensitive nature of the deal life cycle and the highly competitive nature of the business requires the candidate to be able and willing to work longer hours beyond the official working hours to ensure and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced technical proficiency in spreadsheets, presentations, business intelligence, and data analytics.
  • Effective communicator, capable of presenting complex issues to a senior audience internally and externally.
  • Ability to work under pressure, stay calm, manage conflicts and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outputs.
  • Assume ownership for personal development and act as brand ambassador for ADIB.
  • Willingness to travel and represent ADIB at client meetings and industry events.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple workstreams across stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability, team spirit, and alignment with business priorities.

Previous experience required (if any)

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in corporate finance. M&A, Advisory, private equity resulting in direct experience in areas such as financial modeling, capital raising, business valuations, credit ratings etc, preferably in the UAE and the GCC at a leading international, regional or UAE bank (or a combination thereof).
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field (such as Economics, Business Administration etc).
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, CA, MBA or equivalent would be an added advantage
