Job Description
The Role
Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, safety, and productivity goals. This role focuses on execution excellence, workforce management, and continuous improvement within assigned production areas.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong experience in production management, people leadership, problem-solving, and operational execution. This individual will ensure efficient manufacturing performance while supporting continuous improvement and business objectives .
In this role you will
Production Operations Management
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, delivery , and productivity targets.
- Execute production plans and schedules to meet customer demand.
- Monitor manufacturing performance and implement corrective actions when required .
- Optimize manpower , equipment utilization , and production resources.
- Support production ramp-up activities and stable manufacturing operations.
Manufacturing Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Drive productivity, yield, efficiency, and throughput improvements.
- Monitor and improve manufacturing KPIs including OEE, yield, cycle time, scrap rate, and labor productivity.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing tools and operational excellence initiatives within production areas.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing waste while supporting cost reduction efforts.
Quality & Process Control
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Support root cause investigations and CAPA implementation.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to improve process performance and product quality.
- Promote standardized work and right-first-time manufacturing practices.
EHS & Workplace Safety
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and safe work practices.
- Lead workplace organization and 5S initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate safety risks within manufacturing areas.
- Foster a strong safety culture among operators and supervisors.
Team Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead production supervisors, technicians, and operators to achieve operational objectives .
- Conduct performance management and employee coaching activities.
- Ensure workforce readiness through training, certification, and skill development programs.
- Promote employee engagement and accountability.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Support NPI activities, process changes, production transfers, and manufacturing improvement projects.
- Communicate operational performance and production challenges effectively to management.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 3–5 years of people leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production operations, manpower planning, and manufacturing execution.
- Demonstrated success in improving productivity, yield, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, OEE, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Experience supporting NPI, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Experience in semiconductor, filtration, contamination control, or advanced manufacturing industries preferred.
